Overview:

The Marketing Assistant will work side by side with the Marketing Leader. The ideal candidate should possess the capabilities to think creatively, navigate social media platforms and have a passion for offering excellent customer service. Candidate must be prepared to take direction while assisting with major events and be able to lead various event projects from start to finish as assigned. The candidate will also be responsible for creating digital advertising and scheduling electronic media as well as coordinating the booking of our training center.

The Essentials:

  • Assist in creating annual marketing campaign that promotes customer engagement with SCHEELS product and first-class in-store experiences.
  • Execute the growth of the SCHEELS brand through social media by generating and building content that represents SCHEELS culture, product, and community involvement.
  • Develop, detail, and execute SCHEELS store events.
    • Ability to multi-task and simultaneously handle coordination of several events in various stages
    • Assist in creation of internal and external promotional pieces.
    • Schedule digital media for upcoming events: including digital message centers and Scheels Community posts
  • Ability to manage an annual budget
  • Demonstrate strong organization, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and problem solving skills
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical equations; perform operations using currency, measurements and understanding percentages
  • Be professional in appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere and treat others with respect and consideration while following Scheels' policies and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Expert Experience:

  • Ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in mass communications, hospitality/tourism management, marketing, advertising, sport management, or have practical experience related fields.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills as there will be regular interaction with customers and vendors during the planning and execution phases of all events and promotions.
  • Candidate should possess an eye for detail and be able to effectively and simultaneously handle the coordination of several events in their various stages of development.
  • Candidate should be self-motivated and willing to take a leadership role with co-workers and volunteers for the successful execution of SCHEELS events.

 

Activity:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation

Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work

Schedule:

Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 7a.m. and 7p.m., Monday through Saturday, 10a.m. and 6p.m., Sunday. Schedule will include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, must be available minimum of three weekends a month. Average hours per week is 40 hours.
