Position Description:

SCHEELS is currently seeking a Sales and Management paid Intern to tentatively start Mid-January thru Mid-April at our Billings, MT Scheels Store Location. The internship position will assist with analyzing trends, purchasing products, the development of approved programs, and merchandising of products for each of their assigned shops.  This position will work closely with Scheels Leadership, Specialty Shop Managers, Vendors, Support and Display associates to provide the best shop impression and customer experience within our store.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Learn a variety of tasks related to the Specialty Shop Manager position such as:
  • Analyze reports and assist with making decisions on the purchasing of inventory, arrangement of merchandise, and sales trends to meet Scheels Specialty Shop expectations.
  • Provide world class customer service through your interactions by assisting customers with their needs and developing repeat business
  • Evaluate sales reports to determine which items are selling and checking inventory records to place new orders as necessary
  • Regularly connect with vendors within the assigned shops to learn more about the latest trends and available merchandise
  • Assist Specialty Shop Managers and Display to create dominant displays to promote sales within assigned shops.
  • Execute project work plans to complete the task on time  with appropriate revisions to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth
  • Attend weekly required sales and product knowledge training meetings
  • Collaborate with the Events Leader to create social media posts relating to assigned shops

 

Requirements:

  • Strong initiative and vision for continuous improvement
  • Detail oriented, organized, ability to multi-task and maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Respond with urgency to address store and vendor needs
  • Strong oral/written communication and computer skills
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to lift items overhead more than 6 feet
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, bend, sit, twist frequently
  • Ability to speak for extended periods to customers or associates

 

Education and Experience:

The ideal candidate will be seeking a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications or a related field and must be at a Junior or Senior status to apply.

 

Schedule:
Must be flexible to work evenings and weekends.  Hours will vary from 10-27hours per week depending on project needs.
