Overview:

The Custom Golf Fitter will be responsible for committing to a professional, team environment, provide assistance to fellow associates and customers in the golf department and give world-class service to customers.  This position will work a flexible schedule that prioritizes appointment times for fitting customers in the Scheels Golf Shop.

The Essentials:

  • Work one-on-one with the customer creating a positive club fitting experience
  • Share product knowledge with customers while making personal recommendations based on talent and skill level
  • Ensure each customer receives exceptional service leading to maximized sales by finding the right products, providing creative solutions and resulting in noticeable performance gains
  • Help store employees with support tasks when not in a fitting appointment.
  • Unload product deliveries and put out on the sales floor or in back stock
  • Assist in stocking, organizing, merchandising and display of merchandise in the golf shop and/or hitting bays
  • Assist sales associates with retrieving and loading purchased product for customers
  • Maintain orderly appearance of personal work space and surrounding areas. General cleaning and organization around the store, back stock areas and in the hitting bays.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other associates of the organization
  • Ability to be organized, multi-task and work efficiently

  • Exercise judgment and tact and be able to effectively work with all levels within the organization
  • Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively and in a timely manner

Expert Experience:
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of a High School diploma, or General Education Degree (GED), a minimum of one year of club-fitting experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

Activity:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation

Very heavy work – Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects

Schedule:

Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 9a.m. and 9p.m., Monday through Saturday, 11a.m. and 5p.m., Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.  Average hours per week is 20 hours.
