Position Description:
The Event Coordinator/Social Media Specialist will act as the liaison between Scheels and our customers, vendors and the community by providing superior service in all relations affiliated.  The associate will professionally represent Scheels Home and Hardware by working with the Event and Social Media Lead to create event and outreach strategies that align with the store goals.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Develop and implement a social media strategy on behalf of the brand
  • Ensure social media channels are driving traffic and revenue
  • At times will be our brand voice on social media by researching, creating and schedule daily posts, tweets, etc. on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, Wanelo, and Scheels Community Site
  • Collaborate with others to create and execute social media promotion, contests, campaigns, and content management 
  • Integrate vendor marketing promotions to our social media calendar and ensure accurate execution
  • Generating content and copy
  • Ensure quick and appropriate responses are sent via social media regarding customer questions
  • Share social media best practices company-wide and ensure Scheels is using the latest tools and resource
  • Assist in planning and coordinating store special events
  • Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth
Requirements:
  • Advanced knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing best practices
  • Excellent analytical, data analysis, creative and innovative abilities
  • An understanding of market trends and customer mindsets
  • Ability to be organized, multi-task, and maintain all aspects of social media
  • Strong initiative and vision for continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of HTML, mobile apps, and WordPress is a plus
  • Strong management skills and ability to meet all project deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and with the team
  • Respond with urgency to address all project needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to complete basic mathematical equations
  • Exercise judgment and tact and be able to effectively work with all levels within the organization while working on projects
Education and Experience:
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree; one to two years of experience in social media marketing with demonstrated successes; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Schedule:
Must be available to work assigned schedule, typically between 8a.m. and 5p.m., Monday through Friday. Schedule may include an occasional evening or weekend. Average hours per week is 20-25 hours.
