Position Description: 
SCHEELS is currently seeking a PART TIME  Experienced Bike Builder in our Service Shop, for our Coralville, Iowa location. While committing to a professional, team environment; this associate will provide assistance to fellow associates and customers in repair and maintenance of various products, while providing world class customer service. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Ability to learn how to repair all sporting goods items that we provide. Bikes, Exercise Equipment, etc.
  • Lead and train new associates in the Service Shop
  • Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Provide world class customer service by smiling, greeting and assisting all customers. Be friendly and courteous when assisting customers
  • Maintain orderly appearance of personal work space and surrounding areas
  • Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth

Requirements: 
  
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and associates of Scheels.
  • Be professional in appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere and treat others with respect and consideration while following Scheels’ policies and procedures
  • With or without accommodations, be able to sit, and/or stand, for extended periods of time. Extensive use of hands, arms and legs for lifting and transporting product and freight
  • Ability to work independently and with the team
  • Exercise judgment and tact and be able to effectively work with all levels within the organization
  • Must be at least the age of eighteen and have an approved driving record
  • Able to lift or move up to 100 lbs. or more

Education and Experience: 
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of a High School diploma, or General Education Degree (GED), one or more years experience of building Bikes or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Schedule: 
Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 9am and 9pm, Monday through Saturday, 10am and 6pm, Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours; days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Average 15-20 hours a week. (Schedule can be flexible)

Salary:
Starting pay $13.00/hr
