Overview:

The Vendor Partnership/Co-op Manager will be responsible for providing strong, aggressive leadership to assist in generating the maximum amount of vendor co-op dollars and marketing discretionary funds that may be available to SCHEELS in support of our initiatives. The primary focus will be on cultivating, maintaining and assisting in the growth of vendor partnerships for the hunting, fishing, and outdoors categories.

The Essentials:

  • Lead and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to reinforce SCHEELS position as a specialty retailer
  • Study industry marketing best practices and the competitive landscape to develop strategic and tactical marketing plans
  • Develop powerful, cohesive and consistent marketing plans in-line with SCHEELS ultimate vision
  • Study and identify SCHEELS and vendors’ business strategies, challenges and opportunities to drive brand awareness and demand generation
  • Study the competition and research new opportunities to enhance the SCHEELS brand and the vendor partners to increase market share
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with key vendor partners including Vortex, Sitka, YETI, Rapala, Humminbird, Leupold, Mathews, etc
  • Working with vendors to negotiate, plan and implement the use of any co-op, marketing or discretionary funds they provide across the entire company
  • Compile supporting documents for proof of performance and filing the claims with the vendors
  • Manage the co-op marketing budget with a high degree of accuracy, consistently meeting and exceeding set goals

 

Expert Experience:

Ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in marketing, advertising, business or related discipline; and/or 5+ years’ experience in corporate business practices with a proficiency and understanding of the ever developing retail environment.

 

Activity:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation

 

Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Roles are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Schedule:

Must be flexible to work between 8a.m. and 5p.m., Monday through Friday, with some weekends as needed averaging 40 hours per week
