Overview:

The Social Media Sports Specialist will be responsible for developing social media strategies for SCHEELS pertaining to current professional sporting events, seasonal sports (football, baseball, basketball, hockey, etc), and product trends/launches which will drive engagement with our audiences. The Social Media Specialist should quickly understand and support initiatives that will contribute to sales (in-store and online), successful campaigns and online presence, and the analytics to recap content published. This position will work with a wide variety of people within the SCHEELS Corporation, primarily with the Marketing and E-commerce teams.

The Essentials:

  • Develop and implement social media strategies on behalf of the brand in category of sports/athletics
  • Passion for sports and athletics with an interest in staying on-top of industry trends, current events and news related to the sports category
  • Active in sports as a hobby (i.e. running, biking, hiking, intramural sports, etc.)
  • Ensure social media channels are growing in followers and engagement
  • Be our brand voice on social media by researching, creating, scheduling and responding to daily posts, tweets, etc. on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and SCHEELS Blog
  • Collaborate with the team on the execution of SCHEELS Expert content and distribution across all marketing channels
  • Understand and report on analytic data related to social media
  • Collaborate with others to create and execute social media promotions, contests, campaigns, and content management
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing best practices
  • Excellent analytical, data analysis, creative and innovative abilities
  • Ability to be organized, multi-task, and maintain all aspects of social media

 

Expert Experience:

Ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, one to two years of experience in social media marketing with demonstrated successes; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Activity:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation

 

Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Schedule:

Must be flexible to work between 8a.m. and 5p.m., Monday through Friday, with some weekends as needed averaging 40 hours per week
