Description
SCHEELS is currently seeking a Part-Time Bowtech/Gun Support associate for our Coralville, IA location. This support position will provide superior service in the repair and maintenance of archery bows to meet the service requests of the customer as well as help with gun forms. This position will represent Scheels as a friendly, courteous and knowledgeable professional to all customers and fellow associates. 

Responsibilities Include:
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting all customers within sales radius
  • Be knowledgeable to answer questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise
  • Stock shelves, counters or tables with merchandise
  • Accurately fill out Gun Form 4473 as well as offer other support to the Gun team
  • Carefully follow instructions per specific requests of the customer while maintaining safety requirements
  • Service bows including:
    • Setting up bows with accessories
    • Tuning bows
    • Repair bows
    • Stringing bows
  • Communicate process of repair and suggestions for ongoing maintenance
  • Maintain an orderly and exceptionally clean appearance of personal work space, archery bench, back stock space and surrounding areas
  • Welcome, greet and address customers in friendly and courteous manner while providing prompt and outstanding services to customers
  • Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth

Requirements:
  • Capability to draw back a bow of 70 lbs or more
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s and the ability to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume and distance.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Be professional in appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere and treat others with respect and consideration while following Scheels’ policies and procedures.
  • With or without accommodations be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Be able to reach, balance, walk or crawl
  • Attend occasional evening training meetings
  • Ability to work assigned scheduled which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Education and Experience:
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED), one to three months of related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
Schedule: 
Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 9am and 9pm Monday through Saturday, 11am and 6pm Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours; days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Average hours are 20 – 25 hours per week. 

Salary: 
Starting wage is $15.00/hr.
