Job Summary:

While committing to a professional, team environment, provide assistance to fellow associates and customers in retrieving freight, putting display items on the floor and providing world class customer service to all customers. This position will work with a wide variety of people within the organization, including Assistant Store Leaders and Specialty Shop Managers, to ensure the Scheels standards for display are upheld.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide world class customer service by smiling, greeting and assisting all customers. Be friendly and courteous when assisting customers with product and special orders.
  • Collaborate with Shop Managers to complete clothing and merchandise displays and seasonal shop changeovers
  • Researching lifestyle and design trends and making sure designs will appeal to the target audience.
  • Developing floor plans to make the most of the space available.
  • Provide ideas and complete tasks that drive the overall fashion apparel experience to the customer in display.
  • Maintain body forms throughout the store, and install or dismantle displays throughout the store.
  • Unload product from freight, tag, fold, hang and price product to be put out on the sales floor. Restock product on the sales floor.
  • Maintain orderly appearance of personal work space and surrounding areas. General cleaning and organization around the store and back stock space. .
  • Other duties that may be assigned by supervisor, as needed.
  • Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • The associate is frequently required to do the following with or without accommodations:
    • Prolonged standing with occasional walking
    • Repetitive motions requiring use of both wrists and hands as well as fingers
    • Able to work for extended periods of time
    • Low level positions: squatting, kneeling, and crouching
    • Use of ladders and step stools

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
  • Be professional in appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere, and treat others with respect and consideration while following Scheels’ policies and procedures.
  • Strong initiative and vision for continuous improvement while contributing to a positive team atmosphere
  • Ability to work assigned scheduled which may include varied hours, evening, weekends, and holidays

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Schedule:
Must be available to work assigned schedule, typically between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with weekend hours as needed.  Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, and holidays. The amount of hours per week is 40 hours.
