SCHEELS is currently seeking a Part-Time Intern for our Springfield, IL store to work October 23 – January 7. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports and clothing including but not limited to hunting, archery, team sports. This individual will work side-by-side with the Event Coordinator, Marketing & Social Media Manager, Web and Special Order Manager, Freight and Support and provide world class customer service.
Responsibilities Include:
- Plan and execute first class events to drive sales, traffic and community good-will.
- Plan and prepare content for social media postings.
- Shop, organize, and collect products to complete web orders.
- Pack, seal, label and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping.
- Handle incoming merchandise with efficiency to assure correct counts.
- Assist with merchandise placement, back stock, price changes and floor sets.
- Provide world class service by smiling, greeting and assisting all customers. Be friendly and courteous when assisting customers with products or services
- Ability to be organized, multi-task, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented, organized and maintain a high level of accuracy
- Strong initiative and vision for continuous improvement
- Ability to work independently and with the team
- Exercise judgment and tact and be able to effectively work with all levels of leadership while working on projects
- With or without accommodations be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Able to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Ideal candidate will be in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sports Management or other related field.
Schedule:
Average hours per week are 15-20. Hours will include nights and weekends and all scheduled events. Internship may be for credit or non-credit.
